Alannah's Story
Growing up in Australia, Alannah lived a very active and healthy lifestyle. However, in her teens especially, no matter how frequent she worked out or ate healthy food, she always had stubborn weight issues. Which definitely lead to body image problems, lack of self confidence, dysregulated nervous system and a whole hot mess of hormonal imbalances. The cause? Undiagnosed PCOS (she just didn't know it yet). The health in wellness field had always been of interest so she started a traineeship at a local gym where she became certified in fitness.
But it just didn't feel aligned, so she went travelling, finding different pieces of herself along the way, she became a bit of a nomad for a time there.

Fast forward to 2018, living in Canada, she suffered a horrific miscarriage that landed her in the ER, it was a bit of a wake up call to start taking her health more seriously. Diving into holistic health through a friends program, made the decision to finally come off birth control (that she had been on since age 15) for good, things started to truly unravel from there. In 2019, lost her period for months on end and her skin broke out - acne like she was a teen again (crippling her self confidence once again). Searching for a solution after her family doctor said her blood labs were 'normal', she found naturopathic medicine. Always aligning with natural health but never truly being exposed to it often nor never really lived where it was accessible, this is where she would first be told about PCOS. So she started a natural protocol with her naturopath. Still waiting to get a formal diagnosis, went back to her family doctor where she was told, 'you don't look like someone who has PCOS'. Once again being dismissed by our ever failing health system. But she advocated for herself and pushed to see a gynocologist where she finally felt heard for the first time, after many tests (one of which was an MRI on her adrenals) she finally was diagnosed in 2022 with PCOS. But in the meantime was still working with her naturopath and within 3 months her period came back, acne started to clear and she just started to feel better in her body.

But during covid, while all of this was happening, she started studying Holistic Nutrition and Health Coaching, most for her own health to begin with. But after talking with so many women who were suffering and being failed by the medical system (not just in Canada but other countries), she made it her mission to help them become educated she that they could advocate for themselves. And then started a whole other journey on itself. And after taking a break from nutrition coaching to rediscover herself after a breakup, she is back bigger and bolder than ever.

Currently studying herbalism (a huge passion) to add to her repertoire of services to help others where she is able to guide others through holistic and natural medicine practices to truly heal and support themselves long term.
